Bio
Biography
History: Bertie Wooster, an orphan, was brought up by a gaggle of his aunts and uncles, especially his aunt Dahlia at Brinkley Court, whom he would do anything for. He also developed a fondness for his cousin Angela during this time. Bertie has another aunt, Agatha the Nephew Crusher, and at least three more uncles, not to mention another three by family alone. It was the earnings of his uncle Willoughby Wooster that got him into such prestigious learning establishments and later, when Uncle Willoughby passes on and passes his fortune onto Bertie, what allows Bertie to remain outside the working world.

Young Bertie attended the first rate Eton and went on to go to Oxford University, meeting such chums as Gussie Fink-Nottle, Bingo Little, and Tuppy Glossop. However, as most people will make note of, the education does not seem to have done young Bertram much good, as even the quotage of a passage of Shakespeare tends to fly over his head like a bird on crack.

On several occasions he has found himself engaged to a lady of some prestige and pedigree, though very rarely because Bertie himself desired so. It has often been the advice of his valet Jeeves—whom he met in the midst of a hang over after a wild night of helmet snatching—that has successfully saved him from marriage thus far. His Aunt Agatha has been no help in the matter either, considering that a woman might be the thing her spineless nephew needs to become an upright man. If nothing else, Bertie is also required to carry on the Wooster lineage. It has not gone well.

Personality: Bertie is the epitome of honour. He speaks highly of his family’s better qualities such as the Wooster courage. Even if he is wronged by a fellow member of the Drone’s Club, while he may grumble and be sour about the experience, he will eventually warm up to the individual again: however there may be some form of revenge involved.

He is used to living luxuriously and unemployment has given him the sort of mindset that allows a person to sleep in until noon and party hardy late in the evening. Bertie is proud to be single and hopes to remain so, even if Jeeves has to yank him out of every engagement he is thrust into. Bertram is loyal, slightly foolhardy, a little bit dim, but on the whole, a good egg.

Personality in seven words or less: Loyal, friendly, unlucky, dim, well up

How Other Perceive Your Character: They think he’s probably a dense sort of bloke without sense enough to figure which end the tea comes out of. Quite easy to manipulate, always willing to lend help, or at least the services of his amazing valet, Jeeves.

Beliefs, Convictions, Morals: Bertie will always try to stand up for his friends or give them whatever help he can—hopefully without the aid of Jeeves if only to prove that he’s just as intellectually inclined as his trusty valet. If it’s his family that comes calling, he usually has to be guilted into a similar, helpful sort of action, but he’ll always be there when the fat lady sings.

Reason for Escaping to Canada: His blasted Aunt Agatha, does he need another reason?

Their DHAs [Dreams, Hopes, and Aspirations] for Canada: To hide. For a very, very long time. Maybe buy a nice house, and have Jeeves come along soon to pick up his employment where he left off. Generally, just escape the insanity that is familial obligations.

Twenty-Questions for the Characters:
1. What turns him on: Women with shapely legs in black stockings
2. What turns him off: Same women with similar legs in runny or holey stockings
3. Would they see a shrink: Good lord, no! It would give his Aunt Agatha even more reason to call him a worthless stain on the fabric of humanity.
4. Worst Childhood experience: Possibly when he was told there was no Saint Nick.
5. Favorite film: Something that gets the old blood pumping with excitement, where the dashing young hero sticks it to the man.
6. Favorite Song: That song he heard at the cinema last night.
7. Favorite Word: Tea
8. Least Favorite Word: Marriage
9. Favorite Curse Word: “Bloody,” perhaps
10. Best gift ever received: Jeeves, if one could call a person a gift, or if your could consider something that was sent to get one’s life put back together a gift.
11. Sound or Noise they hate: An alarm clock.
12. Sound or Noise they love: The kettle after a late night and an even later morning.
13. Do they know the answer to 64 million dollar question: Of course! Well, no, probably not. But Jeeves would!
14. [Complete the sentence] ... All the world's a stage... which makes everyone liable to become veritable rotten produce targets.
15. Did Yoko Ono really break up the Fab Four: He doesn’t know who that Yoko bloke is, but he’s sure it was for the best.
16. Chuck Norris or Bruce Lee: Erm…either chap would be fine, he supposes. It’s rather like the last question, as a matter of fact.
17. Half full or half empty: You can never have too much tea in the morning, so definitely half empty.
18. Coke or Pepsi: Only with rum. The precise ratio depends on the time of day and the circs that require the beverage.
19. If they were a Jellybean flavor, which one: Well, he’s not really one for sweets, but the blue ones can’t be very harmful, can they?
20. Finally, if Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? Anything but “Oh, terribly sorry, your room is downstairs."

This is an RP journal, nothing more. I don't pretend to be affiliated with Hugh Laurie, PG Wodehouse or other such folk dedicated to the fine production Jeeves and Wooster.
